Mr. Bormanis is an American writer and television producer. He is currently a writer and co-executive producer for the Fox television series The Orville, created by and starring Seth MacFarlane, and also a consulting producer for the upcoming season of the Fox / National Geographic series Cosmos.
He began his television career as the science consultant for the final season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the second season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He continued as science consultant for the rest of the run of Deep Space Nine, and also served in that capacity for Star Trek: Voyager. He wrote several stories and scripts for Voyager, and was a full-time writer and producer on Star Trek: Enterprise for its four-year run. He has been writing and producing television ever since, including the CBS drama series Threshold and Eleventh Hour, and the Disney animated series Tron: Uprising. He also co-created and served as head writer for the first season of the National Geographic series Mars.
Mr. Bormanis received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Arizona, and an M.A. in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from the George Washington University, the latter earned under a NASA Space Grant fellowship.
